THIS IS MATHEW Flores of Sandy, Utah.
Last week, postman Ron Lynch was delivering mail to Flores’ apartment complex when he spotted the 12-year-old fishing junk mail from a bin so he could have something to read.
Lynch wrote on Facebook:
He asked me if I had any extra mail he could read. He told me his wish is to have books to read. I told him the library had many, but he said they don’t have a car, and couldn’t afford the bus.
Moved by the boy’s story, Lynch asked his Facebook friends to send Flores some reading material.
“I was given many books as a child, and it’s time to help someone else,” Lynch said.
According to KSL TV, Lynch’s post quickly attracted thousands of shares – and before he could even return to Flores’ home on Sunday with books for him, he had already received some from kind strangers.
“[I think] there are 350 books or more,” said the boy. “People said ‘These are for you’, I thought they were mistaken, but these are for me.”
We’re not crying. It’s just rain on our faces.
